Eating smart Here's a recipe to try for a good fiber rich meal Brisk Barley Soup l lb. chuck meat 2 or 3 tbsp., barley 2 tbsp., lima beans 1 tbsp., split peas 1 onion, chopped 1 stalk of celery Fresh spring parsley (to taste) 2 or 3 medium potatoes cut into small pieces. Cook all ingredients minus potatoes in 1 1/2 quarts of boiling water for two hours. Add potatoes and cook until potatoes are done. Season to taste. Makes about six servings. |
